* 2005-03-302:10 p.m. i need to write. so here i am. the inevitable "future" looms like a black cloud...a cyclone cloud. once i thought my quarter life crisis was over, here it is, back on my doorstep, smothering me under the warm cozy blankets of avoidance and denial like a burglar in the night...i used to say that being depressed is much more comfortable than being happy. things are more likely to get better when you are depressed. things are less likely to get better when you are happy. i was reminded of my brother, telling my mom that he had it all, and that everything was too perfect...not sure if it was my mom or his wife...life for sure is never what one expects. here i am, daily working toward a lifelong goal, as short as my life has been or long, depending on how one looks at it, and yet i am overcome with anxiety, fear, doubt...strange. every morning i tell myself to be someone else. it's sad but it helps. everything points to "needing something new." passionlessness is no way to live...breeds restlessness.
