* 2005-07-167:17 a.m. I just got JA's collection of short stories in the mail. JA was my first girl crush. Mainly because I was in awe of her writing. She was raw, and beautiful, and confident. And she had experienced THINGS. I was 21 or 22 in college, with lots of ideas, full of shit, with nothing to back it up. Her novel is great. It's funny. A reviewer compared her to Mary Gaitskill, and I really love Mary Gaitskill, too. R and I are going to watch Willy Wonka today on Imax. I'm excited. I woke up at 6 today, without an alarm, and started working on my computer. I really need to get organized, and I really need to GRADE. I am so lucky right now. The class I am teaching is full of bright, motivated, hard-working kids. I just got a job teaching college prep sophomore English. I am really looking forward to it. I really need to brush up on my grammar.
